The Salsa Cutthroat is designed for endurance riders, featuring trail-taming compliance and optimized geometry for long days on any surface.
The Cutthroat Carbon fork provides trail-taming compliance and features abrasion-resistant plates in high-wear areas for unpredictable conditions. The Class 5 Vibration Reduction System (VRS) utilizes seatstays with a tall, thin, vertically-oriented profile to promote vertical compliance, while horizontally-oriented chainstays resist torque to maintain a laterally stiff rear end.
Salsa uses interior junction control mold technology at all main front triangle junctions during layup and curing to ensure precise control of wall thickness and inner-wall smoothness. This process increases compaction and reduces voids in critical high-stress zones for a high-performance carbon frame.
The drop bar mountain bike geometry features a 69° head tube angle for a long wheelbase that provides stability over long days. The 445 mm chainstays with Class 5 VRS offer efficiency and comfort for endurance riders. The frame is designed for maximum frame bag volume and includes multiple bottle and cargo-carrying options, including Three-Pack mounts on the fork and top tube bag mounts.
The bike accommodates 29 x 7.6cm (3.0") tires up front and 29 x 6.1cm (2.4") tires in the rear. It is compatible with direct-mount frame packs, rear racks, and features SRAM UDH compatibility for easier maintenance.
